High profile divorces always make the news. After all, we are fascinated by them. Famous actors, movie stars and singers seemingly have everything they could ever want: money, fame, endorsements and legions of loyal fans. So why are we left scratching our heads when their supposedly perfect marriages fall apart in divorce? How could it all go so wrong?

World-famous hip hop mogul Dr. Dre was ordered to pay his estranged wife, Nicole Young, $500,000 on Tuesday 28th April 2021. She had asked for $2 million a month in support payments, plus $5 million for her attorney fees, considering Dr. Dre’s employment and net worth of $800 million.

This divorce case is almost definitely going to be high profile, being covered in all the celebrity magazines and global entertainment media. However, it’s important for all parties involved to remain reasonable and have realistic expectations when it comes to settlements in law as any bad press could affect businesses involved quite negatively.

Being famous and very high profile, Dr. Dre and Nicole Young need to remain level headed while emotions are running high. Their lawyers will be making efforts to prevent this from getting out of hand to an extent, which is why having the right team around them at such an emotional time is so important. Let’s hope they come to an amicable solution. Here at Nalders we have a dedicated team of family law specialists who are experts in advising clients when family relationships break down. The solicitors in our team are all members of Resolution. Resolution is a national organisation of specialist lawyers whose code of conduct is to provide constructive advice in a non-confrontational way balancing the benefit of any step against the likely costs, both financial and emotional. Based at seven sites across Cornwall, our solicitors have the experience to handle all your requirements.
